Accessibility Statement

What we build to, what we have measured, and how to tell us when we get it wrong.

What we are aiming for

We build this website to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA.

Conformance status: partially conformant. That means most of the site meets WCAG 2.1 AA, and we know of a few places where it does not yet. They are listed under Known issues below.

Last audited: 28 September 2026, against all 86 pages listed in this website’s sitemap, at desktop and phone widths. Audited automatically with axe-core 4.13 driven through Chromium, plus a scripted keyboard walk of every focusable element on the 64 main pages. We re-run these checks before each major release and update this statement when we do. Testing with screen readers and with people who use them is not yet done.

What the site already does

  • Every page starts with a skip link that jumps straight to the main content.
  • The site is navigable by keyboard, and the element you are on shows a visible focus ring.
  • Animation respects your system setting: with reduced motion turned on, animated sections render in their finished state instead of moving.
  • Text is real text, not pictures of text, so it reflows and scales with your browser settings.
  • Images that carry meaning have alternative text; decorative ones are hidden from screen readers.

Known issues

  • Headings (WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.3.1). On 27 pages, mostly the job pages, the company page and two research articles, some short lines that look like headings are coded as ordinary text, so they are missing from a screen reader’s list of headings.
  • Focus visible (2.4.7). On the home page at phone width, the three links that name our intelligences (Company Brain, Real Estate Intelligence, Market Intelligence) show no focus ring when you reach them with the keyboard.
  • Keyboard (2.1.1). On the Deployment page at phone width, the row of cards that scrolls sideways cannot be scrolled with the keyboard.
  • Text contrast (1.4.3). On the research article “The AI-Native Investment Firm”, the grey text inside the shaded panels does not stand out quite enough from the panel behind it.

We know exactly which elements are involved, and each one is on our list to fix.

Tell us when something is not usable

How we tested and what the site relies on

The site relies on HTML, CSS, JavaScript and WAI-ARIA. It is tested in current Chrome at desktop and phone widths. This statement was prepared on 28 September 2026.

The platform

This statement covers smart-bricks.com. The Smart Bricks platform at app.smart-bricks.com is assessed separately, and this statement does not cover it.
